The Chief Engineer is accountable for overseeing all elements of facility management services and operations. Acting as ABM's primary liaison for daily operations, the Chief Engineer fosters a culture of safety and reliability within the facility management domain. This role emphasizes continuous improvement through the promotion of learning and development among team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to safety protocols and comply with both company and regulatory standards.
  • Capable of operating or assisting in the operation of all heating and ventilation systems, engines, turbines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, fans, and siphons at the assigned site.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to undertake all assigned tasks.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders on technical matters, work scope suggestions, and failure analysis.
  • May work across various engineering departments depending on current operational needs.
Essential Functions
  • Provide engineering support across a diverse array of systems, maintenance programs, and operational engineering tasks.
  • Possess the ability to comprehend, analyze, and devise solutions for the design, operation, maintenance, performance, or repair of vehicles and equipment.
  • Approach problem-solving logically, define maintenance programs or configurations, and ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Review Service Bulletins (SBs) from manufacturers or component suppliers.
  • Develop solutions and implementation strategies, project justifications, cost/benefit analyses, and oversee project execution while coordinating warranty recovery on applicable SBs.
  • Organize and prioritize assigned responsibilities to meet project deliverables, maintenance program modifications, and technical specification updates.
  • Collaborate with other operational teams to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a managerial capacity.
  • Engineering expertise applicable to a variety of systems, maintenance programs, and engines.
  • For service engineering roles, these technical skills are utilized for operational challenges rather than project-specific tasks.
  • Ability to analyze intricate technical issues and manage projects for regulatory compliance modifications.
  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills are essential.
