Position Title: Educational Program Field Coordinator

Overview:

As a Field Coordinator within the School of Education, you will oversee the practical training of teacher candidates across various educational levels, including Elementary, Secondary, and Specialty Endorsement areas such as Physical Education, Special Education, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Reading Intervention.

Department: School of Teacher Education

Supervisor: Associate Dean of Teacher Education

Status: Adjunct

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a mentor and evaluator for teacher candidates engaged in practical experiences within PK-12 educational settings.
  • Facilitate communication between the university, cooperating educators, and teacher candidates to ensure clarity in clinical experience requirements.
  • Participate in on-campus informational meetings throughout the academic year.
  • Provide guidance and resources in curriculum design, instructional methods, assessment practices, classroom management, and professional conduct.
  • Conduct field observations and complete evaluations for each candidate at mid-term and conclusion of their experience.
  • Adhere to the outlined responsibilities in the field experience documentation.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the supervising authority.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a valid teaching license or have recently held one, with endorsements relevant to the areas of supervision. Active engagement in a Christian community and alignment with the university's theological principles are essential.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Windows-based software applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
