Preschool Promise Classroom Leader

Early Education Program (EEP) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Preschool Promise Lead Teacher to guide our team in providing a nurturing and enriching environment for preschoolers from income-eligible families.

As a leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of these young learners. Your expertise in early childhood education and commitment to fostering their growth will be instrumental in their success.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate a safe and engaging classroom environment where children can thrive through developmentally appropriate play and activities.
  • Provide exceptional leadership by training, mentoring, and supporting your team of educators to ensure children achieve developmental milestones aligned with their age group.
  • Build strong partnerships with families through positive interactions and open communication. Regularly update them on their child's progress and celebrate their achievements.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Collect essential data for assessment tools, such as the Assessment of Early and Periodic Screening, Developmental Reviews (AEPS).
  • Implement our comprehensive curriculum, including Creative Curriculum and PATHS social-emotional learning program, to provide a well-rounded educational experience.
  • Maintain accurate records for children and families, ensuring compliance with Preschool Promise and Oregon Office of Childcare guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in Oregon's Criminal Background Registry (CBR).
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Step 8 or higher on the Oregon Registry, or a Bachelor's/Master's Degree in child/education-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience in a preschool classroom setting.
  • Experience working with children with special needs is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and instruct young learners.
  • A calm, friendly, and reliable demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Deep understanding of child development principles and preschool educational methods.
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
  • Current food handler's card and CPR/First Aid certification.
