This Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) role presents a unique opportunity to engage in the enhancement and modernization of nuclear energy facilities utilizing cutting-edge control technologies. You will play a pivotal role in both leading and assisting various I&C projects, ensuring technical excellence and proficient project management. These initiatives will necessitate collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop digital systems including PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computer systems.
  • Draft functional and implementation requirements along with procurement specifications for nuclear control systems.
  • Engage with clients to guarantee effective project execution and satisfaction.
  • Prepare and assess technical reports, calculations, and studies, presenting information clearly to meet client specifications.
  • Oversee resource allocation and develop estimates for task completion and budget planning.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals.
  • Review and create diagrams and drawings for new and upgraded control solutions.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals from a technical standpoint.
  • Collaborate with vendors to conduct document reviews, ensure compliance with specifications, and witness Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on behalf of clients.
  • Support the implementation of projects at client facilities.
Your role will primarily be conducted at a nuclear facility in Connecticut.

Qualifications:

Essential qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in the design engineering of I&C systems within a project team setting, focusing on integrated and detailed system design modifications.
  • A Professional Engineering license is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for effective systems design.
  • Experience acting as a client liaison in a support or lead engineering capacity.
  • Proficiency in reviewing design documentation.
