Key Responsibilities- Technical Reviews: Conduct thorough technical reviews of facilities construction drawings and specifications to ensure mechanical adequacy, compliance with functional requirements, and conformity with standard engineering and construction practices.
- Design and Development: Design and develop layouts, construction drawings, and specifications for facility mechanical systems, including heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, utilities, fuel handling, and industrial ventilation.
- Engineering Services: Provide engineering services in support of Architectural and Engineering Contracts, including writing statements of work, estimating fees, negotiation, performance monitoring, and evaluation of bids.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful engineering project execution and provide technical advice on facility development products or services.
- Problem-Solving: Evaluate engineering design, construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of utilities equipment and systems to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- Documentation: Write documentation to resolve disagreements concerning facilities engineering issues and provide technical guidance to junior level engineers and technicians.
- Professional Engineer (PE) Registration: Must possess a current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- Acquisition Functional Area Certification: Must be certified in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position.
- Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
