Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions and operations of the organization. This includes executing various activities and contracts associated with the Business Source Center, collaborating with subcontractors, managing program content and initiatives, and maintaining relationships within the community. The coordinator is responsible for measuring and documenting the progress of initiatives to ensure that program services and grant obligations are met. Additionally, the coordinator sets objectives and benchmarks for each team member, ensuring clarity in responsibilities and providing necessary training and resources.

The Project Coordinator supervises staffing within the center, which encompasses recruitment, selection, training, career development, performance evaluation, workload management, recognition, compensation, and disciplinary actions.

This role involves organizing programs and activities while leading a team of Business Coaches to ensure that the center achieves its objectives. The Project Coordinator will also manage a small caseload of clients to facilitate understanding of service delivery and to promote the program effectively.

Core Responsibilities

  • Guide and support Business Coaches with diverse skills and responsibilities.
  • Manage a limited caseload of Microenterprises and Small Businesses.
  • Recruit and train staff and interns to deliver high-quality services and effective outreach.
  • Identify needs and spearhead the creation of new tools and materials (e.g., business plan templates, promotional materials).
  • Assist small businesses in obtaining capital by aiding in loan packaging and identifying appropriate lenders.
  • Implement evaluation tools to assess program strengths and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Ensure that goals are achieved, including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team performance.
  • Collaborate on strategies with the marketing team.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Accounting) or five years of equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business services.
  • Experience coordinating services with external agencies and managing administrative systems and databases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of general business practices.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience with small business loan packaging is advantageous.
  • Other duties as assigned.
