Job Overview

Project Support Services is in search of a proficient Construction Project Manager to direct both minor and major renovations at various childcare center locations. The role involves managing a range of renovation tasks, including the replacement of modular classrooms, maintenance repairs, playground enhancements, installation of shade structures, ADA compliance upgrades, and other related projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Construction Project Manager will oversee multiple phases of project development, which may encompass:

  • Engagement in pre-construction planning discussions
  • Assessment of project scope and financial estimates
  • Participation in site visits with prospective contractors
  • Collaboration with agencies to prepare and organize construction bid documents
  • Facilitation of bid collection from potential contractors
  • Coordination with agencies for contract awards or purchase orders
  • Scheduling and planning of work in conjunction with agencies and contractors
  • Conducting weekly site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
  • Monitoring project expenditures and invoicing
  • Evaluating and providing feedback on change orders
  • Reviewing contractor payment requests
  • Managing collection of certified payroll from contractors
  • Gathering project closeout documentation
  • Issuing regular project updates to stakeholders
  • Providing additional construction management services as necessary
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, along with:
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial construction management, or
  • A 2-year degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial construction management.

  • Architectural or Civil Engineering
  • Architecture

  • Willingness to travel and conduct site inspections in various weather conditions
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of construction practices and terminology
  • Experience with public procurement and contract bidding processes
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
