Job OverviewPosition Title: Program Coordinator, HEAL
Department: Project 180
Compensation: $33.65/hour

About the Organization
SSG-Project 180 is dedicated to transforming lives through innovative, comprehensive services that empower individuals to remain in their communities rather than in institutional settings. As a pioneer in the forensic treatment field, Project 180 provides exceptional, specialized treatment programs for numerous individuals involved in the justice system. Our initiatives encompass various criminal justice intercepts, including pre-arrest interventions, court-based diversions, jail in-reach, and intensive post-release support.

About the Program
The HEAL and "Capstone" initiatives are mental health diversion pilot programs overseen by the Office of the LA County Public Defender. These programs aim to provide dedicated psychologists to conduct 730 Mental Health Evaluations for individuals unable to afford legal representation, thereby creating new avenues for mental health diversion. Project 180 collaborates with the Public Defender to offer clinical staffing and administrative assistance for both programs.

Role Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator will be tasked with managing client referrals, scheduling evaluation appointments, and ensuring clients navigate the evaluation process effectively. This role requires close collaboration with indigent defense agencies to process referrals, in-house psychologists to manage appointment schedules, and clients to coordinate necessary arrangements. As a foundational member of the program team, the Coordinator will play a crucial role in developing all systems and processes essential for the program's success. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and technological skills are vital for designing, managing, and refining systems that monitor and manage each stage of the program. The Coordinator will report to the Program Supervisor, HEAL + "Capstone" and will operate from Project 180's office.

    • Schedule appointments with psychologists for client evaluations.
    • Receive and distribute 730 Evaluation reports from psychologists in accordance with program policies.

  • Adhere to Project 180 Staff Expectations:
    • Maintain regular attendance; weekend or holiday work may be necessary.
    • Uphold the Agency's mission, values, policies, and procedures.
