Los Angeles, California, United States Project 180 Full time
Job Overview

Position Title: Program Coordinator, PREP
Department: Project 180
Compensation: $33.65/hour

About Us

SSG-Project 180 is dedicated to transforming lives through innovative support services that enable individuals to remain in their communities rather than in institutional settings. We are a frontrunner in the forensic treatment sector, providing specialized programs that cater to numerous individuals involved with the justice system. Our initiatives encompass various criminal justice intercepts, including pre-arrest interventions, court-based diversions, jail outreach, and comprehensive post-release support.

Program Details

The Pretrial Release Evaluation Program (PREP) is a County-managed initiative that facilitates the release of criminal defendants from the county jail system at the initial stages of legal proceedings. This program offers in-court assessments, connections to treatment services, dedicated housing, and case management support while participants navigate their ongoing legal matters.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator is instrumental in the daily functions of the PREP initiative. This role involves ensuring the integrity of program data, coordinating custody releases and transportation logistics, and managing housing and referral processes. The Program Coordinator also acts as a liaison with external partners, enhancing the overall efficiency of the program. Success in this position necessitates effective collaboration with both the PREP team and external stakeholders to ensure smooth program operations. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and technological skills are essential for developing, managing, and optimizing systems that monitor and oversee each phase of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Management: Ensure high-quality data integrity and record-keeping by performing data entry in PREP and P180 logs and databases, collaborating with program staff for necessary corrections, and managing client records with organized electronic files.
  • Program Support: Coordinate custody releases, assign tasks to Peer Navigators and Drivers, process housing referrals, and facilitate linkages to community resources.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, communicate effectively to resolve daily operational issues, and contribute to collaborative planning and execution of tasks.
  • Project Execution: Assist in the development and implementation of special projects as directed by the Program Manager, regularly reviewing and enhancing systems for optimal efficiency.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited institution or at least 2 years of experience managing complex processes in a professional office environment.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in MS Excel and/or Google Sheets.

Preferred:

  • Personal experience with homelessness, mental health recovery, or the criminal justice system.
  • Experience with forensic or dual-diagnosed populations.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary teams within mental health or hospital settings.
  • Fluency in Spanish.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to navigate the worksite throughout the day, which may involve walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.

Mental and Physical Requirements

The employee must be capable of performing complex tasks, managing distractions, and interacting professionally in high-stress situations while adhering to deadlines.
