Aviation Procurement Specialist

This position is dependent on contract award.
The Aviation Procurement Specialist is responsible for acquiring aviation-related products, services, materials, equipment, and supplies as required to support various operational sectors within the organization. This role involves expediting orders and ensuring timely delivery through effective communication with suppliers and logistics partners.
Maintain procurement documentation and records in compliance with organizational policies, contract stipulations, and regulatory requirements. Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs), analyze supplier proposals, and negotiate terms and conditions within the designated authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and verify approved purchase requisitions for adherence to contract obligations, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct source selection, issue RFQs, perform price analysis, and execute market research to determine fair pricing and recommend suppliers for contract awards.
- Facilitate expedited purchases to freight forwarders or project locations as necessary.
- Perform regular market assessments to enhance the supplier network, manage vendor information, and assist in the evaluation and grading of suppliers.
- Negotiate settlements with suppliers regarding claims, returns, overages, cancellations, and modifications.
- Oversee negotiations, prepare documentation, reconcile discrepancies in invoicing, purchase orders, and receiving, and organize files for closure.
- Support pricing strategies for business development and proposal initiatives, including identifying new vendors for specific procurement needs.
- Conduct due diligence and vetting processes for both new and existing suppliers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 4 years in Aviation/Aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) procurement.
- At least 2 years of experience in a U.S. Government purchasing environment.
- Experience in procurement for projects at diverse remote locations.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFAR regulations.
- Proficient in procurement systems such as Pentagon 2000, MAXIMO, Costpoint, or similar platforms.
- Proficient in Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.
- Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively while working independently.
