This position is dependent on contract award.

The Aviation Procurement Specialist is responsible for acquiring aviation-related products, services, materials, equipment, and supplies as required to support various operational sectors within the organization. This role involves expediting orders and ensuring timely delivery through effective communication with suppliers and logistics partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify approved purchase requests for adherence to contract specifications, organizational policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct source selection, issue requests for quotations (RFQs), perform price analysis, and carry out market research to assess fair pricing and recommend suppliers for contract awards.
  • Facilitate expedited purchases to freight forwarders or project locations as necessary.
  • Engage in regular market analysis to strengthen the supplier network, manage vendor information, and assist in the evaluation of suppliers.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on issues such as damage claims, returns, and order discrepancies.
  • Prepare documentation for negotiations, reconcile invoices, and manage purchase order discrepancies to ensure accurate file closure.
  • Support pricing strategies for business development and proposal initiatives, including identifying new vendors for specific procurement needs.
  • Conduct due diligence and vetting processes for both new and existing suppliers.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Aviation/Aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) procurement.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a U.S. Government purchasing environment.
  • Experience in procurement for projects at various remote locations.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR regulations.
  • Proficient in procurement systems such as Pentagon 2000, MAXIMO, Costpoint, or similar platforms.
Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
