Position Overview:

We are looking for a Global Commodity Manager to take charge of strategic commodity management at our Global Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier development initiatives and conduct quarterly business evaluations.
  • Articulate and disseminate the commodity strategy across all organizational levels and to suppliers.
  • Formulate and execute strategic plans that enhance total cost of ownership while mitigating risks associated with our supply chain.
  • Oversee technology transitions and lifecycle roadmaps pertinent to various industries.
  • Ensure compliance with all procurement regulations and standards.
  • Assess existing and potential suppliers to elevate service levels and drive continuous improvement in cost and efficiency.
  • Negotiate Master Supply Agreements to maximize value and improve inventory turnover.
  • Streamline the supply chain from suppliers to customers, focusing on reducing lead times.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional teams addressing quality, pricing, inventory, and material availability.
  • Conduct supplier and commodity market analysis to track trends.
  • Engage in supplier quality audits to ensure adherence to corporate standards.
  • Maintain and update supplier performance scorecards.
  • Act as a super user for SAP within the assigned functional area.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 8 years of related experience in a similar environment.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Management.
  • Willingness to travel 20% to 40% of the time.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA is preferred.
  • Experience in the industrial and consumer combustion engine sectors.
  • Familiarity with industry trends related to automotive, agriculture, marine, transportation, and power generation.
  • Background in continuous improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proven expertise in cost reduction and negotiation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing strategies and supplier management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Knowledge of supplier contracts, quality assurance tools, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Capacity to analyze market dynamics and assess competitive landscapes.
  • Skill in identifying market risks and developing contingency strategies.
  • Ability to track and report material price variations to financial teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to maintain composure under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular communication and manual dexterity. The employee may need to stand, walk, bend, or reach overhead occasionally and may lift up to 25 pounds. The position typically requires extended periods of computer-based work, necessitating close vision and the ability to adjust focus. International travel may be required up to 30% of the time.
