We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to become a vital member of our team.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will oversee the comprehensive management of designated commodities and products on a global scale. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams while ensuring supplier execution and performance. The manager will implement sourcing strategies that deliver measurable value through processes and projects aimed at reducing total material acquisition costs, enhancing revenue and gross margins, aligning the supply base, improving product quality, and minimizing overall risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier development initiatives and conduct quarterly business assessments.
  • Articulate and disseminate the commodity strategy across all organizational levels and to suppliers.
  • Formulate and execute strategic plans that demonstrate measurable improvements in total ownership costs while significantly mitigating risks associated with our supply chain.
  • Monitor and communicate technology transitions and lifecycle roadmaps relevant to all associated industries.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with all applicable regulations and laws while adhering to standard operational procedures.
  • Assess existing and potential suppliers to enhance service levels, continuously seeking improvements in cost and efficiency.
  • Negotiate Master Supply Agreements to maximize value from expenditures and focus on achieving high inventory turnover.
  • Streamline the supply chain of goods and services from suppliers to customers by concentrating on lead time reduction.
  • Engage in or lead cross-functional teams focused on quality, pricing, inventory management, and material availability.
  • Provide insights on supplier and commodity market trends through comprehensive analysis.
  • Participate in supplier quality audits to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
  • Maintain and update supplier performance scorecards.
  • Act as a super user for SAP within the assigned functional area.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 8 years of related experience in a similar environment.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Management.
  • Willingness to travel 20% to 40% of the time.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with all stakeholders at any organizational level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA is preferred.
  • Experience in the industrial and consumer combustion engine sectors.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and analyses related to automotive, agriculture, marine, transportation, and power generation markets.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma.
  • Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proven skills in cost reduction and bidding strategies to enhance value.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers.
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing techniques, including strategic supplier concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Knowledge of supplier contracts, product conformity, quality tools, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to assess critical market dynamics, including comprehensive industry evaluations and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Capacity to identify market and supply risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Track, report, and reconcile all material price variations with financial teams.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to maintain composure under pressure, analyze situations, and take effective actions to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

Physical Demands: This role requires regular communication and the use of hands for manipulation of objects or controls. The employee will frequently stand and walk, with occasional requirements to stoop, bend, or reach overhead. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary. The position involves extended periods of computer-based work, necessitating close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel may be required.
