  • Create detailed Cost Breakdown and Work Routing analyses to facilitate the management and development of target costs.
  • Prepare documentation for negotiations with suppliers when their pricing exceeds the established 'should cost'.
  • Identify critical factors contributing to cost discrepancies and assist commodity management with data to negotiate improvements.
  • Oversee and manage cost control through contract development and analytical insights.
  • Evaluate cost variances against key drivers to assess the accuracy and viability of proposals.
  • Serve as a resource for cost accounting and commodity management to uncover reasons behind accounting variances.
  • Effectively communicate cost analyses through visual reports and collaborative workshops.
  • Assess the cost-effectiveness of products and projects to meet target costs, collaborating with other departments to adjust estimates for informed decision-making.
  • Investigate and propose additional cost-saving initiatives to further reduce part costs below the established 'should cost' and present these to the Design Engineers.
  • Collaborate with the supplier management team to support supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives that lead to reduced costs and enhanced performance.
  • Assist suppliers, when necessary, with alternative manufacturing techniques and procedural modifications to decrease costs and enhance quality.
  • Be prepared to work outside standard business hours as needed and participate in virtual meetings with global teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Proficiency in standard cost systems, cost analysis, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cost estimation, cost engineering, cost accounting, industrial engineering, or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BI).
  • Experience in program or project management.
  • Background in supplier development.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ASQ-CQE/CQA, CPIM, CSCP, PMP).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Advanced understanding of contemporary manufacturing processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product variance calculations and costing structures.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within project teams.
  • Capability to present findings and influence decision-makers through analytical presentations.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Occasionally, the employee may need to stoop, bend, or reach above shoulder height.
