Job Overview

Reports to: Administrator

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Specialist is tasked with ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of the human resources division within Victoria Flax. This role involves providing guidance to management on strategic workforce planning, compensation structures, employee benefits, training initiatives, budgeting, and labor relations. The specialist is expected to actively contribute to fostering a workplace culture that aligns with the core values, mission, and objectives of Victoria Flax.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers employee health and welfare programs, including enrollment, modifications, and terminations. Ensures accurate documentation through payroll and insurance providers for proper record-keeping and deductions.
  • Provides customer service by addressing employee inquiries and requests.
  • Maintains and verifies personnel records in compliance with company policies and relevant state and federal regulations, including I-9 documentation and necessary licenses.
  • Facilitates online background checks for new hires and submits investigation requests.
  • Assists in the processing of employee separations.
  • Supports the performance review process preparation.
  • Manages the recruitment and interview process, tracking candidate status in the HRIS and sending follow-up communications post-recruitment.
  • Organizes and files documents in the appropriate employee records.
  • Prepares correspondence as needed.
  • Develops and oversees employee retention initiatives.
  • Prepares documentation for new hires.
