General Manager for a Nationally Recognized Fried Chicken Brand

Originating from Memphis, Tennessee – Now Expanding Nationwide

Founded over 60 years ago by a dedicated husband-and-wife team, this famous fried chicken establishment began as a small tavern in Mason, TN. They eventually transitioned to a standalone restaurant, which was later passed down to their son, leading to widespread acclaim for their delicious fried chicken. Unlike Nashville hot chicken, this establishment serves southern spicy fried chicken that is hand-battered and cooked to order. All their southern sides are crafted in-house daily, ensuring freshness and quality. Recently, they introduced a Fried Chicken Sandwich that has garnered attention. This brand has been featured in numerous prestigious publications, including GQ, Forbes, and the LA Times, highlighting their status as one of the best in the industry.

With franchises in Southern California, the first restaurant opened in Los Angeles in 2016, followed by additional locations in Burbank, Santa Ana, and Oakland. Each location maintains a straightforward, simple, and delicious menu. The Oakland site operates as a fast-casual concept, offering a unique dining experience. The company is on the lookout for a professional, hands-on General Manager to oversee operations at their Oakland location. This site functions as a fast-casual, counter-service model, with a lower volume compared to their Southern California counterparts. The role requires active participation in daily operations, including working shifts and assisting wherever necessary, whether at the cashier, in food preparation, or on the cooking line. Candidates should possess a strong guest-focused mindset and value exceptional customer service. A vibrant, energetic attitude that thrives in a fast-paced, unique environment is essential. General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the business while remaining actively engaged with the team
  • Manage operational costs effectively
  • Lead and guide the team towards success
  • Ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met
  • Create a positive and enjoyable work atmosphere
  • Take ownership of the business to drive sales and profitability
  • Maintain awareness of restaurant cleanliness, team appearance, and productivity
  • Set a standard for the team by delivering excellent hospitality and service
  • Anticipate and respond to the needs of the restaurant

General Manager Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager, preferably in a similar casual or upscale fast-casual restaurant setting
  • Demonstrated success in leading and motivating a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to excel in a high-pressure environment
  • High standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Experience managing P&L
  • Flexible availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Experience in restaurant openings is a plus
  • Process-oriented with the ability to implement operational procedures for maximum efficiency

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base salary in the $75-85k range, depending on experience
