POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Culinary Production Associate is responsible for the preparation, distribution, and packaging of large quantities of food in a central kitchen environment. This role ensures that meals meet the mandated nutritional standards set by local, state, and federal regulations while adhering to health and safety protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent may perform a variety of essential functions, including but not limited to:
  • Executing food preparation tasks according to established production menus and schedules.
  • Handling and preparing various food items, including fruits, vegetables, grains, and proteins, to meet nutritional requirements.
  • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain food quality and safety standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies from various health and safety organizations.
  • Operating commercial kitchen equipment and utensils for food packaging.
  • Inspecting food items to verify quality and compliance with health standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas and equipment.
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues and promoting a positive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in food handling.
  • A valid Serve Safe Food Safety Certificate.
  • A valid California Driver's License.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of:
  • Food handling regulations and public nutrition services.
  • Institutional food preparation techniques and safety practices.
  • Effective customer service principles.
  • Record keeping and inventory management.

ABILITIES:
The successful candidate will be able to:
  • Prepare and package food items while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position involves working in a commercial kitchen and food service production environment, which may include exposure to refrigerated areas and fast-paced conditions.
