About the Role:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Locale, a rapidly growing meal delivery company revolutionizing the way people enjoy prepared meals from top Bay Area restaurants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a rotating menu of high-quality, flavorful recipes that meet the expectations of our thousands of weekly customers.
  • Produce food on behalf of our well-known restaurant partners, adhering to their quality standards and ensuring consistency in our products.
  • Manage labor efficiency and food costs to maintain a healthy profit and loss statement.
  • Monitor customer feedback and ratings to continuously improve meal quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and lead a strong culinary team, including scheduling, managing, hiring, and training staff to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with our Culinary Operations Manager and part-time kitchen staff to ensure seamless production and plating of various foods.
  • Oversee production days, producing and plating a variety of foods based on specified requirements and ensuring compliance with safety practices.
  • Manage all ingredient sourcing and procurement, including inventory management and strategic purchasing to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in culinary or food supervisory positions in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Proven track record of managing and leading a team, with a focus on people management and building meaningful connections with colleagues.
  • Availability to work weekends, with main production days on Friday-Sunday, and days off earlier in the week.
  • Creative and innovative approach to menu development, with the ability to produce a diverse selection of products, including healthy, high-protein, vegan, and other options.
  • Data-driven mindset, with a focus on metrics and goal achievement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the kitchen.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, with a focus on adaptability and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable with feedback and willing to learn and grow with the company.
