Overview: ASRC Federal is in search of a Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer to lead our internal IT operations.

The Chief Information Security Officer is at the forefront of our Information Security initiatives, tasked with the development, execution, and upkeep of the information security framework for ASRC Federal. This role necessitates close collaboration with senior management to address information security threats and to engage with other Chief Information Security Officers across the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) on cybersecurity risk issues, ensuring the organization effectively manages its information security vulnerabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess a visionary mindset and a wealth of experience in information security, particularly in data protection and risk management. A comprehensive understanding of the cyber threat landscape, along with senior leadership experience, is essential for guiding organizations in making informed risk decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary representative for Information Security, fostering enthusiasm and ensuring the organization is prepared to implement and sustain the Information Security strategy over the long term.
  • Collaborate with the CIO and business stakeholders to define objectives and key results for the Information Security program, facilitating cross-functional teamwork.
  • Regularly refresh Information Security objectives and key results in partnership with the CIO and business leaders.
  • Engage with business partners and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to inspire confidence in the organization’s security posture.
  • Ensure that high-value assets are identified and prioritized within cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Develop metrics-driven scorecards to keep executive stakeholders informed about the cybersecurity health of the business.
  • Provide strategic leadership by integrating shared visions and strategies, addressing interdependencies.
  • Build and maintain essential relationships with key leaders across IT, Compliance, and Legal departments.
  • Lead a proficient Information Security team that provides timely insights and accountability.
  • Establish management routines to integrate workflows and proactively identify issues.
  • Guide change management and communication strategies to transition the organization to its desired state.
  • Oversee contract and program cybersecurity monitoring to ensure secure service delivery.
  • Develop Supply Chain Risk Management capabilities in accordance with federal standards.
  • Collaborate with technical leadership to ensure compliance with security requirements.
  • Steer the development of ASRC Federal's Zero Trust strategy.
  • Keep the Operational Leadership Team informed of progress and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in information technology management.
  • 8+ years of expertise in IT security architecture, including network design and data protection technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of laws and compliance standards related to cybersecurity in the Civil Government and Defense sectors.
  • Proven ability to enhance security architecture and technologies to mitigate risks and support business operations.
  • Experience operationalizing security controls in complex environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of driving results and managing change.
  • Exceptional collaboration abilities and a focus on building strong relationships.
  • High emotional intelligence, fostering trust through authenticity and reliability.
  • Strong strategic development skills, capable of influencing decision-making processes.
  • Respected leader with a history of creating and guiding high-performing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and communication skills.
  • Proactive and innovative mindset, capable of delivering business value while ensuring security.
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass a government background investigation.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.
  • Experience with managing security programs in a mergers and acquisitions context.
  • Understanding of application and database security issues and mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of penetration testing techniques and risk analysis.
