Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Facilities Operations Supervisor to manage the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency of our buildings and grounds, with a strong focus on hands-on management and strategic planning, including the implementation of a comprehensive cleaning schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance

  • Oversee daily maintenance and repair tasks for our distribution center and meal production facilities, including all equipment and infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify maintenance requirements, safety risks, and cleanliness concerns, coordinating with both internal teams and external partners to address them swiftly.
  • Maintain a management system to monitor both preventative and corrective maintenance of all critical equipment, ensuring effective lifecycle planning.

Cleaning and Sanitation

  • Develop and uphold a master cleaning schedule for all facility areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Train and lead custodial staff, providing necessary guidance to ensure adherence to cleaning protocols and sanitation requirements.

Security Management

  • Implement safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment for all personnel and visitors.
  • Collaborate with safety teams to oversee access controls and emergency response strategies, ensuring the security of the premises.

Space Planning

  • Manage space utilization efforts to optimize resource allocation across the facility.
  • Coordinate layout adjustments and equipment installations with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Vendor Management

  • Foster positive relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with service agreements, addressing any issues as they arise.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise custodial and facilities staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct regular meetings to communicate objectives and updates regarding facility operations.

Facility Presentation

  • Implement strategies to enhance the overall appearance of the facility, ensuring all areas are clean and well-maintained.
  • Collaborate with custodial teams to establish effective cleaning schedules that uphold high standards of hygiene.

Budget Oversight

  • Manage the facilities budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings while prioritizing essential maintenance needs.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management, preferably within a food distribution or production context.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning protocols, safety regulations, and food safety standards.
  • Proficient in managing staff and coordinating with external vendors.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on collaboration.
