Position Overview: Facility Operations Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: $85,000
Role Summary:
The Facility Operations Manager serves as the primary contact for all aspects of facilities management. This role supports the Regional Manager and the Facility Management team in delivering high-quality facility management services through effective leadership of Facilities Supervisors and Operating Engineers. The manager will coordinate service delivery to ensure satisfaction among key stakeholders at the assigned facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Regional Manager in executing facility management services for designated locations.
- Design and implement innovative programs and processes that enhance efficiency, lower operational costs, and boost productivity.
- Supervise Facilities Supervisors to guarantee the provision of maintenance, repairs, and other facility management services.
- Monitor and enhance stakeholder satisfaction for the facilities under management.
- Achieve all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the assigned facilities.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to ensure the delivery of high-quality facility management services.
- Oversee the execution of third-party service contracts to maintain service quality.
- Manage the development and oversight of the annual operating budget and capital budgets for the facilities.
- Ensure all equipment and work orders are accurately documented in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Support the training and development of facilities staff.
- Act as the primary contact for resolving escalations from site leadership and occupants.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of the annual management plan.
- Conduct site governance meetings for the facilities.
- Ensure timely reporting as required by clients.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Facilities Management with a focus on management.
- A minimum of 8 years of industry experience in K-12, higher education, corporate environments, third-party service providers, or consulting.
- Strong organizational, management, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to leverage business intelligence for improved service delivery.
- Knowledge of facility management services, real estate, accounting, and building systems.
- Experience managing multiple sites and working with technical and administrative staff as well as key client stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service, computer, managerial, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in CMMS, Microsoft Office applications, and building systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively organize responsibilities to meet facility goals.
- Capacity to develop productive relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with client personnel and third parties.
