Overview

Global Data Consultants is seeking a Lead ETL Developer. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely, although candidates must operate within the Eastern Standard Timezone.

Position Overview:

The successful applicant will engage in a consultative manner with clients and possess extensive experience in ETL development. The ETL Developer will be responsible for loading data weekly into a large Compliance Data Warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes for SAP/Sybase IQ databases, while supporting programs and processes for data updates.
  • Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and other programming logic for data creation, updates, and deletions.
  • Design and execute schema modifications, manage indexes, and adjust data objects to enhance performance.
  • Create efficient data models based on logical designs derived from business requirements and usage patterns.
  • Identify entity relationships, enforce referential integrity constraints, and establish primary key structures. Analyze trade-offs among alternative schemas.
  • Generate and maintain documentation, including file specifications, schema designs, core record layouts, programs, business requirements, test plans, and other artifacts essential for database operations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in SQL development, data modeling, and database security.
  • Familiarity with SAP Data Services.
  • Experience utilizing SQL tools.
  • Background in conducting ETL processes on large XML, flat files, and database table data sources.
  • Experience in Unix and Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of tax and financial data is advantageous.
