SUMMARY


The Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Test Evaluation and Certification II Services (TEC II) contract delivers technical solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) in support of Test and Evaluation (T&E) services and T&E enabling services.

The service requirements of JITC are organized into the following categories:
T&E Performance Requirements, T&E Capability Management Requirements, T&E Capability Requirements, and Overarching Contract and Task Order (TO) Requirements.

TEC Services are extended to DoD Combatant Commanders, Services, Agencies, federal and state entities, coalition partners, and commercial organizations to assist in the design, development, acquisition, integration, deployment, operational use, and maintenance of new and enhanced Information Technology/National Security System capabilities.


Agile Defense is seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Test Engineer to facilitate the assessment of vendor-supplied developmental and production hardware and software.

This role necessitates a profound comprehension of RF principles, testing methodologies, and the capability to operate advanced testing equipment and emerging technologies.

The engineer will undertake engineering-based responsibilities ensuring the RF test laboratory effectively conducts standards conformance and interoperability certification assessments.

The RF Lab testing functional domains encompass High Frequency, Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Satellite Communications, and Very High Frequency/UHF Line of Sight.

The selected individual will provide subject matter expertise on technical RF testing challenges and offer recommendations on pertinent testing or necessary modifications to sustain the lab's independent waveform testing systems.

This position is strictly on-site in a government facility.

The chosen candidate will assist the task lead in the following areas:

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess and revise existing test plans and procedures to determine their adequacy for a waveform test technician's execution. Explore innovative testing methods to enhance efficiency or precision.
  • Create new test plans and procedures.
  • Participate in working group meetings for new and existing standards.
  • Conduct test equipment setup. Perform functionality checks on equipment. Configure equipment for new and existing capabilities utilizing waveform-specific test kits composed of all necessary test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment to evaluate a terminal's military standard compliance.
  • Provide engineering support to the test team technicians before, during, and after test execution.
  • Recommend upgrades, replacements, or discontinuations of equipment, facilities, or capabilities related to the annual lab modernization initiative.
  • Develop test scripts, programs, and procedures to automate testing and enhance lab efficiency.
  • Offer recommendations on candidate subtests for reevaluation following a thorough review of vendor-provided documentation highlighting RF terminal software and hardware modifications that have been previously assessed/certified.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Certifications

  • This position requires an active Secret security clearance on hire date with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance. Current TS/SCI is desired.
  • Requires at least 1 certification in area of specialization.
Education, Background, and Years of Experience

  • Requires a Doctorate and at least 4 years of experience; a Master's degree and at least 10 years of experience; or a Bachelor's and 16 years of experience. The degree must be in a relevant technical curriculum and experience must be related to the job duties. Relevant technical degrees include various engineering and science disciplines, Physics, Operations Research, Computer Science, and Mathematics.
  • Related certifications in the area of specialization may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills

  • Experience with component-level RF circuit characterization and optimization.
  • Experience with RF test equipment including spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and network analyzer.
  • Experience with automated test scripts and software tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental Conditions

  • Contractor site. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Work is primarily performed within an office setting, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands

  • Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
