Position Summary: ForwardEdge ASIC, a Lockheed Martin Company, is in search of a proficient Validation Engineer with expertise in analog and mixed signal testing. This role is crucial in a dynamic testing environment where you will ensure the operational efficiency, performance, and dependability of our analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs). You will work closely with design engineers and interdisciplinary teams to validate and characterize designs throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement validation strategies for analog and mixed signal ICs, which includes defining testing methodologies, creating test setups, and executing simulations.
- Design and execute test cases to verify functionality, performance, and adherence to specifications.
- Provide validation specifications for PCB design and assist in the procurement of testing equipment.
- Conduct hands-on testing utilizing laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, function generators, BERTs, and logic analyzers.
- Create automated testing scripts and tools to enhance validation workflows and increase efficiency.
- Characterize and validate ASIC circuits (including ADC, I/O, SERDES, and LDO IP) across designated performance ranges to identify circuit vulnerabilities and failure points.
- Analyze and interpret testing outcomes, identify challenges, and collaborate with design engineers for resolution.
- Thoroughly document testing procedures, results, and insights, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide technical assistance during product qualification, production scaling, and customer support phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Over 5 years of experience in validation engineering, particularly in analog and mixed signal testing.
- Practical experience with laboratory equipment for testing and troubleshooting analog and mixed signal circuits.
- Strong comprehension of analog and mixed-signal circuits, including IO, ADC, and SERDES; knowledge of semiconductor device physics is advantageous.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Clearance Requirement: This position necessitates a US government security clearance; therefore, US citizenship is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl) for testing purposes.
Work Environment: The typical work environment for this position involves office-based activities with collaboration among analog design, CAD, and physical verification teams. Occasional travel may be necessary for project discussions or customer interactions.
