Responsibilities

KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • Engages in an Integrated Product Team to conceptualize new functionalities based on comprehensive evaluations of development and operational factors.
  • Contributes to the creation of system engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Participates in defining interfaces, designs, and modifications to configurations among various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborates with governmental entities on Systems Engineering technical matters and addresses associated challenges.
  • Develops System Architecture and System Design documentation.
  • Guides system development and implementation strategies through the assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and testing plans.
  • Initiates concept development and trade-off analyses.
  • Drafts program and testing specifications.
  • Creates testing procedures and data.
  • Selects performance criteria for components and subsystems.
  • Oversees the design of information management systems and equipment.
  • Clarifies interfaces among various subsystems.
  • Designs appropriate tests for evaluating, debugging, and verifying equipment and systems for reliable compliance with specifications.
  • Documents methods, procedures, and designs comprehensively.
  • Supervises revisions and modifications.
  • Aids in the implementation of integrated hardware/software systems.
  • Provides consulting services to professional staff and clients in the analysis and design of data processing systems, management systems, scientific systems, and related fields.
  • Offers technical direction, guidance, and support to assigned projects, proposing efficient solutions and methodologies for problem-solving.
  • Develops analytical and computational techniques and methodologies for effective problem resolution.
  • Possesses expert knowledge in the application of engineering and integration of computer hardware and software, tactical networking, and satellite communications to assess the cybersecurity resilience posture.
  • Operates as a Cyber Security Developer, with a deep understanding of Cybersecurity Integration concepts, principles, methods, and practices across various acquisition challenges, serving as a cybersecurity technical authority to the CISO and CIO.
  • Utilizes analytical methods to analyze issues affecting the assigned area and recommends strategies for resolving cybersecurity and integration challenges.
  • Understands the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for tactical acquisition systems to ensure that acquisition Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages are developed and maintained in compliance with the RMF.
  • Familiarity with NIST Special Publication to ensure systems comply with validation processes and implementation standards.
  • Exhibits strong oral and written communication skills to develop and maintain the organizational tactical security architecture plan; prepares and presents reports and recommendations; and updates manuals, instructions, and operational procedures.
  • Applies knowledge of network standards, protocols, and procedures; capabilities and applications of network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, transmission media, and related hardware within the Army tactical network to formulate security strategies for future systems (e.g., Cyber Range, data links, wireless internet, Cloud, Internet of Things (IoT), etc.).
  • Conducts systems analysis and design methodologies to coordinate tactical cybersecurity architecture and integration for testing scenarios.
  • Evaluates computer systems design, prototypes, and applications from an operational test and evaluation perspective for cybersecurity to conduct tactical cyber security test and evaluation planning.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.
  • ITIL v4 certification.
  • IAM Level II Certification.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED BY LEVEL:

  • III: 4 – 9 Years of relevant experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • ACAS certification.
  • Experience with Nessus.
  • Knowledge of SCAP.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role necessitates the ability to perform the following essential functions:
