The Test Analyst Engineer is the test-minded individual who combines technology, tools, and programming skills with analysis to develop test plans, test automation, and test strategies to assure a releasable product.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze software requirements, use cases, user stories, and designs according to test solutions best practices.
  • Formulate a comprehensive test strategy for software under construction.
  • Create test plans and documentation that includes pre-conditions, data setup, assumptions, test steps, and expected results.
  • Create and execute automated tests that conform to the test plan and are reusable in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery environment.
  • Maintain the suite of existing automated tests as the software evolves.
  • Maintain, improve, and extend test automation infrastructure and automated test sites
  • Create and maintain reusable datasets.
  • Participate in agile planning, estimation, and communication.
  • Conduct war room and user group testing with internal and external testers.
  • Assist in improving and promoting best practices, tooling, technology, and test solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Work with developers to create, update, and execute automated test scripts.
  • Identify, analyze, and report issues encountered during testing.
  • Provide feedback to analysts, developers, and project managers on requirements, test solution, and project execution.
  • Provide detailed information for replication of discovered application issues
  • Create and maintain regression test documentation for manual and automated testing.
  • Access Infinite Campus production customer data and production data in public test adhering to the practices and procedures outlined in the master security guidelines.
  • Fulfill other related duties as assigned.

Desired Background

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field; OR three years software development experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with technologies such as Java, Javascript/HTML/XML, Groovy and SQL
  • Expertise with industry-standard functional testing tools (Selenium, Rational, Compuware, etc)
