We are currently in search of a Petroleum Engineer to join a project team at a client facility in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will possess specialized expertise in CO2 sequestration and a comprehensive understanding of reservoir engineering along with practical experience in carbon capture technologies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Designing, implementing, and optimizing CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) projects to boost oil recovery while ensuring adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Developing and assessing Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) strategies to effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Utilizing Tempest MORE for dynamic reservoir simulations, forecasting, and project planning.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate EOR and CCS solutions into both existing and new initiatives.
  • Conducting risk assessments and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
  • Keeping up-to-date with technological advancements and regulatory changes in the EOR and CCS sectors.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The following qualifications are essential for this position:
  • Expertise in Tempest MORE by Aspen Tech for simulation and project optimization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in petroleum engineering with a focus on carbon capture and sequestration.
  • Proven proficiency in utilizing Tempest MORE by Aspen Tech for reservoir simulation and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an in-depth understanding of reservoir dynamics and fluid properties.
