The San Francisco Standard is seeking a Senior Manager of Social Media to enhance our digital presence. This role is pivotal in defining our social media strategy and fostering audience interaction for a dynamic media organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy; apply best practices to expand and enhance our social media presence and engagement across various platforms.
  2. Oversee the social media team, managing daily activities and operations.
  3. Generate and assist in the production of social-first or exclusive content in collaboration with the editorial department.
  4. Gain in-depth insights into our audience across different platforms; provide guidance to editorial and management teams regarding social media trends.
  5. Track performance metrics and utilize insights to inform recommendations for the broader team.
  6. Identify potential growth avenues based on emerging digital trends, competitive analysis, and consumer insights.
  7. Manage and maintain internal documentation of social media best practices and guidelines.
  8. Engage with external social media partners, vendors, and third-party platforms.

Qualifications

  1. 5-10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within a social media team. Experience in media or publishing is advantageous.
  2. Proven success in expanding social media audiences.
  3. Strong grasp of social media marketing strategies and the complete social marketing mix—paid, organic, owned, and earned.
  4. Extensive experience with web and social analytics tools; adept in metrics-driven decision-making.
  5. Outstanding analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  6. Capacity to be both an independent self-starter and a collaborative team player; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Ability to prioritize effectively and excel in a fast-paced startup environment.
  8. Enthusiastic about new and emerging social media platforms; passionate about being both a consumer of social content and an analyst/strategist.

This position offers flexibility in work location. We provide a competitive compensation package along with comprehensive benefits.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $250,000. Actual compensation packages are determined by various factors unique to each candidate.
