Mortgage Sales Consultant

Wells Fargo is looking for a Mortgage Sales Consultant within the Consumer Lending division, specifically in Home Lending. For more details about this line of business, please refer to the external Careers Site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate within designated bank branches to originate mortgage loans; work closely with branch leadership, engage in branch meetings, and mentor staff to enhance their understanding of mortgage products and processes.
- Utilize independent judgment to conduct outreach calls to current and potential clients regarding mortgage loan offerings and maintain appropriate tracking of these activities.
- Engage with clients to assess their needs and deliver exceptional customer service; inform both prospective and existing clients about Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs; evaluate and recommend mortgage loan products tailored to client requirements.
- Handle low to moderately complex mortgage loan applications and review rates and terms in accordance with established guidelines.
- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction and quality by maintaining timely and proactive communication with customers.
- Continuously pursue training opportunities provided by Wells Fargo to enhance knowledge of company products, policies, procedures, and underwriting standards.
- Comply with policies, underwriting criteria, compliance regulations, and loan procedures; collaborate with fulfillment partners to address client needs throughout the loan origination process.
- Stay updated on mortgage industry trends and developments in the assigned market; work to establish and maintain a strong presence for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the community.
- This position involves customer interaction and responsibilities that may include negotiating terms and/or processing applications for secured transactions. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations is required. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including satisfactory background investigation results.
- Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- Experience in the mortgage industry.
- Background in retail residential mortgage, with a focus on purchase fundings from established local or external sources over the past year.
- Understanding of sales prospecting and referral generation.
- Experience in educating clients about various mortgage purchase options.
- Ability to develop and nurture professional relationships.
- Strong customer service background.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Capability to provide leadership through coaching, training, and mentoring.
- This position requires SAFE registration upon employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) website provides the necessary questions and registration for this role. Individuals in Loan Originator positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification standards and adhere to Wells Fargo policies.

- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled.
