Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate within designated bank branches to originate mortgage loans; collaborate with branch leadership, engage in branch meetings, and mentor staff to enhance their understanding of mortgage products and processes; perform various duties as required.
  • Utilize independent judgment when making outbound calls to current and potential customers regarding mortgage loan offerings and manage related tracking activities.
  • Engage with clients to identify their needs and deliver exceptional customer service; inform both prospective and existing clients about Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs; assess and recommend mortgage loan products tailored to client requirements.
  • Process loan applications of low to moderate complexity for mortgage transactions and review rates and terms in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Uphold a high standard of client satisfaction and quality by ensuring timely and proactive communication with customers.
  • Continuously seek out Wells Fargo training opportunities to enhance knowledge of company products, policies, procedures, and underwriting standards.
  • Comply with policies, underwriting criteria, compliance regulations, and loan procedures; work closely with fulfillment partners to address client needs throughout the origination process.
  • Stay updated on mortgage industry trends and developments in the assigned market; cultivate and maintain a strong presence for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the community.
  • This SAFE position involves customer interaction and responsibilities that may include offering or negotiating terms and/or processing applications for secured transactions. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations is required. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Individuals in a SAFE position must also fulfill the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in the mortgage industry.
  • Familiarity with retail residential mortgage processes, including purchase fundings over the past year primarily from established local or external sources.
  • Understanding of sales prospecting and referral generation.
  • Experience in educating clients about various mortgage purchase programs.
  • Ability to develop and nurture professional relationships.
  • Background in customer service.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Capability to provide leadership through coaching, training, and mentoring.
Job Expectations:
  • This position requires SAFE registration upon employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) website provides the necessary questions and registration for this role. Individuals in Loan Originator positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and adhere to Wells Fargo policies.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Must successfully complete the required language assessment.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
