Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Sales Manager to join our team at Palmetto Moon. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales, executing operation functions, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales and Financial Performance
    • Assist the Store Sales Manager in achieving sales goals and objectives
    • Perform Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts to monitor and motivate the team
    • Hold self and others accountable for actively participating in sales driving activities
    • Monitor store labor and adjust to meet plan or business needs
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with every customer and equipping yourself with product knowledge
    • Train and coach the team to offer expected levels of customer service
    • Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve them promptly and satisfactorily
  • Team Leadership
    • Assist in holding the team accountable for performance expectations
    • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service
    • Adjust team priorities to meet goals and company/store initiatives
  • Talent Management
    • Take an active role in store staffing through recruiting and interviewing
    • Perform orientation and training for new team members
    • Coach and address associate performance through formalized processes
  • Product Knowledge and Visual Merchandising
    • Remain updated on key sales drives and know where to find resources for product knowledge
    • Train team members on merchandise features and selling techniques
    • Ensure merchandise is displayed in accordance with visual merchandising standards

Requirements

  • 2+ years of previous leadership experience, preferably in a retail setting
  • Shown motivation and delegation skills, with the ability to hold team members accountable
  • Confident, proactive, and willing to take on workplace challenges
  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities as necessary
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to convey important information clearly and effectively
  • Quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities, specifically in terms of customer service
