Position Overview

The role involves conducting intricate credit evaluations and financial assessments of both new and existing loan applications.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties
  1. Evaluates financial documents on complex credit inquiries to form an initial judgment regarding the level and quality of credit risk and repayment feasibility.
  2. Collaborates with sales personnel to structure each loan proposal to optimally safeguard the bank's interests while aligning with the borrower's objectives.
  3. Engages in discussions with applicants and/or designated representatives such as the borrower's CPA or financial controller.
  4. Requests additional information from sales staff that is relevant to the underwriting process. Works alongside clients and the sales team to gather necessary credit data for loan and lease evaluations.
  5. Confirms the total and current exposure of existing borrowers within the loan and leasing systems, ensuring compliance with departmental risk thresholds.
  6. Prepares credit memoranda that encompass a thorough financial analysis, client background, and a summary of fiscal performance over the current and previous years, along with cash flow assessments for more intricate credits.
  7. Determines and communicates recommended actions (approval or denial) to senior management, ensuring that all pertinent financial analyses and supporting data are included in line with the organization's credit policies.
  8. Maintains precise and comprehensive loan documentation, ensuring that all necessary authorizations and compliance checks are completed prior to finalizing underwriting records.
  9. Fosters strong collaborative relationships with the sales team, leasing, and operations staff to ensure effective communication channels for addressing credit analysis issues.
  10. Suggests enhancements to processes and procedures to boost the efficiency of the credit review workflow.
  11. Acts as the primary backup for the manager in approving daily rental funding requests and oversees the tracking and updating of title information for rental and leasing clients.
  12. Mentors and trains junior credit officers and analysts.
  13. Performs additional tasks as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in commercial credit analysis or fleet/equipment leasing.
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional financial analysis.

  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with effective presentation capabilities.
  • A collaborative team player capable of thriving in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
