Position Title: Senior Commercial Credit Analyst

Job Overview:
This role involves conducting intricate credit evaluations and financial assessments of both new and existing loan applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Credit Risk Assessment: Perform thorough analysis of financial documents related to complex credit applications to evaluate the level and quality of credit risk and repayment potential.
  2. Loan Structuring: Collaborate with sales personnel to design each loan proposal in a manner that safeguards the bank's interests while aligning with the borrower's objectives.
  3. Client Interaction: Engage in discussions with applicants and/or their representatives, such as accountants or financial controllers, to gather necessary information.
  4. Information Gathering: Coordinate with sales teams to obtain essential credit data for the underwriting of loan and lease applications.
  5. Exposure Verification: Confirm the total and current exposure of existing borrowers using various loan and leasing systems, ensuring compliance with departmental risk parameters.
  6. Credit Memorandum Generation: Create detailed credit memoranda that encompass financial analyses, client backgrounds, and summaries of fiscal performance and cash flow for more intricate credit cases.
  7. Recommendation Presentation: Formulate and present recommendations (approval or denial) to senior management, including all pertinent financial analyses and collateral information in line with the organization's credit policies.
  8. File Maintenance: Ensure that all loan files are accurate and complete, validating that all necessary authorizations and compliance measures are in place prior to finalizing underwriting documentation.
  9. Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with sales teams, leasing operations, and other internal departments to maintain open communication regarding credit analysis and client reviews.
  10. Process Improvement: Suggest enhancements to processes and procedures to boost the efficiency of the credit review workflow.
  11. Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior credit officers and analysts.
  12. Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five years of experience in commercial credit analysis or fleet/equipment leasing is required.

Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with strong presentation capabilities. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-tasking environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
