Job Overview

The START Center for Cancer Research, recognized as the largest network dedicated to early-phase oncology clinical trials, is seeking a qualified Administrative Research Assistant. This position is essential in supporting Clinical Research Coordinators in various administrative tasks, requiring a foundational understanding of research terminology and protocol interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, anonymize, and relay clinical data for designated investigational drug studies, including but not limited to imaging, laboratory results, and electrocardiograms (ECGs).
  • Work collaboratively with Clinical Research Coordinators to ensure the accuracy of data timepoints and facilitate query resolution.
  • Utilize study protocols as references for conducting activities related to assigned studies.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of Eligibility criteria, Study Schedules, and Flow Sheets documentation.
  • Support the upkeep of Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), including monitoring patient visits and Institutional Review Board (IRB) tracking for re-consents.
  • Ensure timely updates of data transmissions for assigned studies.
  • Provide assistance and information to both onsite and remote monitors as required.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations, guidelines, and procedures concerning data management, electronic data capture (EDC) systems, and clinical research.
  • Collaborate with Data Coordinators to identify laboratory facilities and standard lab values necessary for assigned studies to facilitate lab certifications.
  • Participate in meetings related to assigned studies, including Site Initiation Visits (SIVs), Roster meetings, and Forms Committee discussions.
  • Communicate effectively with accounts receivable personnel regarding transmitted data.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience and training in general office administration, including proficiency in computer applications and filing systems.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Strong organizational abilities and a commitment to timely project completion.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to comprehend instructions and work independently.
