Job Description

As a Research Scheduler, you will play a critical role in facilitating excellent patient care by supporting and collaborating with the clinic team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement protocol-specific study schedules, including scheduling appointments, radiology procedures, and booking hotel stays.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations for patient procedures, including setting up peer-to-peer reviews as needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling routine follow-up and treatment appointments, managing external referrals and consults, handling no-shows, answering phone calls, and rescheduling patients.
  • Deliver quality services through consistent application of policies, procedures, protocols, and standards.
  • Interact with patients and visitors in a caring and respectful manner, collaborating with other care team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Utilize and maintain patient electronic medical records, including filing, faxing, and copying.
  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvements to provide efficient, cost-effective care.
  • Engage in continuous education and training to maintain skills, knowledge, and competency to complete functions of the role.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to scheduling study-specific procedures such as CT/MRI/PET scans, biopsies, eye exams, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience in an outpatient physician practice or healthcare setting.
  • Oncology background a plus.
