Overview:

Position: Retail Media Strategist

Location: Chicago, IL, Stamford, CT, or Irving, TX

Tracy-Locke is seeking a Retail Media Strategist to enhance our dynamic team.

The Retail Media Strategist will oversee the daily operations of all retail media planning and purchasing activities for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs all media-related client interactions from initial communication to final program outcomes.
  • Manages client budget oversight, ensuring meticulous completion of all media financial documents.
  • Identifies avenues to drive agency revenue goals and enhance client or vendor offerings.
  • Implements and supports departmental and agency policies and initiatives across the media division.
  • Maintains comprehensive control of workflow and supervises assigned team responsibilities, tracking the progress of all initiatives.
  • Establishes media objectives, goals, and strategies for crafting retail media plans in collaboration with clients, media directors, and other agency departments.
  • Creates and articulates media plans, while mentoring junior planners and assistants in their development. Presents media strategies to Media Directors, Account Services, and/or Clients for approval, making adjustments as needed.
  • Responsible for nurturing the skill set and knowledge of junior team members, while guiding, advising, and mentoring the media group in daily operations. Promotes individual initiative, proactivity, and productivity.
  • Brings a vibrant energy and innovative mindset to the media planning process, inspiring planners and assistant planners to embrace creativity and innovation throughout all projects.
  • Facilitates formal training for media planners and assistants on planning principles and best practices for preparing, assessing, and executing media plans across various channels.
  • Develops and enforces processes for managing the strategic and tactical execution of all media initiatives, ensuring projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Effectively communicates the significance of retail media to stakeholders, detailing the diverse channels and strategies recommended to meet client objectives.
  • Experience with media platforms and tools is advantageous, though not mandatory. Examples include Programmatic DSPs (e.g., The Trade Desk), Social, DCM, and Skai.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in media planning and strategy within an agency environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with planning and executing shopper media, particularly with major retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, and grocery or specialty stores.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exhibits a professional and positive demeanor, emphasizing a people-first approach.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and precise.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of adhering to established timelines.
  • Participates in agency training as required.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
