Job Overview

Objective: Execute advanced maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of crane systems as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct service or repair of mechanical machinery both in-house and at client locations, domestically or internationally.
  • Ensure crane systems function effectively by performing inspections, diagnosing issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and executing repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service and installation activities by completing necessary forms, reports, and inspection checklists. (The job is deemed incomplete until all documentation is finalized.)
  • Secure client signatures on all documentation (SME & CIF). All paperwork must be typed and detailed in complete sentences.
  • Manage all expense reports. Expense reports must be thoroughly completed, with each receipt numbered as listed on the report, including job number, payment method, date circled, and total circled.
  • Ensure all photos and videos are uploaded to the designated Google Drive folder for the specific job.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by acting as a liaison between the client and the office.
  • Build and sustain customer trust by maintaining prompt response times, communicating issues effectively, and completing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and comply with OSHA and ANSI standards.
  • Follow the Techcrane Quality Management System requirements.
  • Perform assembly, installation, and testing of hydraulic cranes and their components.
  • Overhaul and evaluate machinery or equipment to guarantee operational efficiency.
  • Instruct Service/Crane Technician Apprentices in crane assembly, installation, and servicing.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, man lifts, and other production equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
  • Manage non-conforming products effectively.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production Management regarding operational or maintenance challenges.
  • Execute other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a technical program.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a crane technician, showcasing mechanical expertise.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical data.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and trade equipment.
  • Capable of identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Skilled in operating forklifts and other production machinery.
  • Able to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a TWIC card.
  • Crane operator's license is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, kneel, bend, squat, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Utilize hands to handle or operate tools and equipment; grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Maintain hand and arm steadiness while moving or holding in one position.
  • Ability to see at close range.
  • Capability to visualize effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance; work at heights.
  • Regularly lift/carry 50 pounds or more.
  • Drive and operate cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.
  • Travel via boats and helicopters; access offshore platforms.

Work Environment:

  • Significant time spent working in the field, including offshore; additional time in assembly shops and warehouses.
  • Noise levels may vary from moderate to very loud.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials, fumes, moving parts/equipment, electrical shock risks, extreme heat (welding), and extreme cold (liquid nitrogen).
  • Severe hot weather is likely; severe cold weather may occur.
