Advanced Crane Service Technician

Position Summary: Execute high-level maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of crane systems as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct service or repair of mechanical equipment both in-house and at client locations, whether domestically or internationally.
- Ensure crane systems are functional by performing inspections, diagnosing issues, executing preventative maintenance, and repairing equipment as needed.
- Document all service and installation activities by completing necessary forms, reports, and inspection checklists. (Completion of paperwork is essential for job closure.)
- Obtain client signatures on all documentation (SME & CIF). All paperwork must be detailed and typed in complete sentences.
- Manage all expense reports. Each receipt must be listed with job number, payment method (Techcrane card or cash), date, and total highlighted.
- Upload all images and videos to the designated Google Drive folder for the respective job.
- Provide exceptional customer service by acting as a liaison between the client and the office.
- Build and sustain customer trust by ensuring prompt responses, communicating issues, and completing jobs efficiently.
- Adhere to safety regulations and compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.
- Comply with the Techcrane Quality Management System.
- Carry out assembly, installation, and testing of hydraulic cranes and components.
- Overhaul and evaluate machinery or equipment to guarantee operational efficiency.
- Train apprentices in crane assembly, installation, and service techniques.
- Operate forklifts, hand trucks, man lifts, and other production equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Manage non-conforming products effectively.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production Management regarding operational or maintenance challenges.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school education preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a crane technician with proven mechanical skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and comprehend technical data.
- Proficient in using hand tools and trade equipment.
- Capable of identifying and resolving operational malfunctions.
- Experience operating forklifts and other production machinery.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Possession of a TWIC card is necessary.
- Crane operator's license is preferred.
- Reliable transportation is essential.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Regularly required to walk, stand, kneel, bend, squat, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
- Use hands to handle or operate tools and equipment; grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Maintain steady hand and arm positions while performing tasks.
- Ability to see at close range and visualize effectively.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and audibly.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance; work at heights.
- Regularly lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as required.
- Willingness to travel by boat and helicopter; access offshore platforms.
Work Environment:
- Significant time spent in the field, including offshore environments; additional time in assembly shops and warehouses.
- Noise levels may vary from moderate to very loud.
- May encounter hazardous materials, fumes, moving parts/equipment, electrical shock risks, and extreme temperatures.
- Exposure to severe hot and cold weather conditions is likely.
