Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at St. Tammany Health System. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hospital grounds and offsite locations are well-maintained and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily grounds activities and projects assigned by the Grounds Supervisor.
- Perform grounds keeping tasks such as mowing lawns, planting and transplanting shrubs and flowers, and eliminating insects and other pests.
- Operate hospital-owned vehicles and/or personally owned vehicles to perform essential job duties.
- Ensure compliance with driving record requirements and maintain a valid and current state-issued driver's license.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in grounds keeping preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral direction.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, lift up to 99 pounds, and work in a moderate noise environment.
Physical Demands:
- Constant lifting, stopping, handling/feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
- Frequent carrying, pushing/pulling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
- Occasional climbing, balancing.
