Sparks Group is partnering with a leading firm in the commercial property and casualty insurance sector to find a talented Compensation and Payroll Manager. This direct hire role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization and make a real impact on their success.

As the Compensation and Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee compensation and payroll operations. Your expertise will ensure accurate and compliant processes while developing innovative solutions that align with company goals and market trends.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Development and Management of Compensation Programs: Design and implement competitive compensation programs, including merit increases, bonuses, executive compensation, and incentive plans.
  • Build a High-Performing Payroll Team: Manage the hiring, training, development, and performance of your payroll team members.
  • Develop Innovative Compensation Solutions: Create new programs, incentive plans, salary structures, and job architectures to attract and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with HR Teams: Work closely with HRIS analysts and HR partners to ensure seamless program implementation, improvements, and system efficiencies.
  • Manage Payroll Processes: Oversee the smooth operation of payroll processes for both US and UK operations within the Workday platform.
  • Provide Expert Guidance on Compensation: Serve as a trusted advisor to HR partners, offering expert advice on compensation programs and strategies.
  • Ensure Legal Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in progressively responsible roles within employee compensation and multi-state payroll.
  • Deep understanding of all federal, state, and local regulations relevant to employee compensation and compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, translate, and present complex data clearly and concisely.
  • Tech-savvy with advanced Excel skills, experience with HRIS systems (preferably Workday), and a history of managing or configuring HCM systems.
  • Experience spearheading projects and integrations to optimize HR systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with at least two years of experience effectively managing a team.
  • Exceptional time management capabilities along with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines under pressure.
  • Prior experience working with global compensation, payroll, and international teams is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources, or a related field.
  • Certified compensation credential; SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) are desired.
