Position Summary:
The HR Generalist plays a vital role in fulfilling the Talent Team's mission, which emphasizes a continuous commitment to attracting, developing, and retaining a high-caliber workforce. This position offers comprehensive human resources support to designated business units and contributes to company-wide initiatives. The HR Generalist is responsible for facilitating HR processes and practices that foster a positive employee experience across the organization, characterized by trust, thoughtful guidance, and a strong sense of community.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Engagement:

  • Act as a resource for employment-related policies and programs, providing guidance to employees and management.
  • Oversee employee relations actions, ensuring adherence to sound practices.
  • Manage employee recognition initiatives and coordinate events.
  • Participate in the employee engagement committee to support and organize employee-driven activities.

General HR Functions:

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork and orientation.
  • Address requests for employment verification and respond to routine inquiries regarding benefits and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with unemployment and garnishment claims.
  • Assist in executing annual HR processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws.

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee employee data in the HRIS system, ensuring accurate payroll and benefits processing.
  • Maintain employee records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Generate and distribute monthly reports related to headcount and other metrics.

Benefits Administration:

  • Acquire knowledge of the full benefits package to address employee inquiries.
  • Assist with the processing of benefit enrollments and updates.
  • Support wellness initiatives and manage the workers' compensation program.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Willingness to learn and pursue professional development.
  • Positive attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in written formats.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Docs.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus but not required.
