Under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources/Capital Manager is responsible for proactive and responsive approaches to employee relations issues that support a positive and productive employee experience. This position will facilitate and manage employee relations on behalf of the company and oversees leaves of absence and ADA requests. This position has comprehensive knowledge of employment law and can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. The manager must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and business needs.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required
  • 7+ years of human resources generalist experience
  • 7+ years of employee relations experience
  • 5+ years of leave, ADA, disability, and accommodation management
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Multi-state experience
  • Demonstrated relationship management and team-oriented
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Detail-oriented and highly analytical thinking with proven ability to problem-solve
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Dropbox knowledge is preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM or PHR Certified
  • Paycom experience
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Consults and collaborates with the Director of HR, RVPs, and Executive Team on highly sensitive employee investigations including interviews, review of internal systems, composing investigation summaries, and proposing action based on findings.
  • Advises leaders on employee misconduct, performance issues, and policy violations.
  • Ensures timely, comprehensive, and effective employee investigations.
  • Trains, develops, and oversees the work of assigned HR and payroll team, currently a team of three.
  • Oversee and manage the payroll function, processes, and regulations.
  • Collaborates with accounting and finance regarding payroll and labor discrepancies.
  • Manage accurate and timely Affordable Care Act (ACA), Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), verifications and other pertinent requirements.
  • Effectively maintain current HR and payroll regulations, changes, and prospective changes.
  • Oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans. Effectively communicates and partners with managers regarding updates and or accommodations.
  • Partners with C-Suites, HR, and RVP’s to resolve policy & practice inquiries, performance management, workplace accommodations, ER investigations, and other assigned cases.
  • Partners with the Director of HR on the creation and/or revision of programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment for employees.
  • Effectively and accurately maintains confidential employee information.
  • Ensures professional service is always provided in accordance with the expectations and guidelines of the HR department.
  • Effectively translates broader principles or the spirit of the guidelines/practices to the current situation and provides recommendations.
  • Effectively anticipates the unintended consequences and broader impact of decisions.
  • Builds and fosters relationships with the business, manages expectations and delivers results.
  • Participates in special projects and/or assignments representing the Human Capital Group.
