About the Role

Martello Re is in search of a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist to enhance our Finance division. This position presents a remarkable opportunity to play a pivotal role in a burgeoning reinsurance firm. The Specialist will assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial evaluations, contributing significantly to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • FP&A Support: Aid in the creation and refinement of financial models, encompassing budgeting, scenario forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Reporting and Insights: Generate monthly and quarterly reports that juxtapose actuals against budgets and assist in crafting presentations for senior management and the Board.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Engage with various teams across the organization, including accounting, treasury, IT, actuarial, and investments, to relay financial performance and support business objectives.
  • Special Projects: Involve in unique projects, such as system upgrades, new business forecasts, and other initiatives as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in the financial services sector.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), with experience in PowerBI being advantageous. Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities are required.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Capable of simplifying complex financial data for non-technical audiences.
  • Work Ethic: Demonstrates high performance standards and a robust work ethic. Ability to take initiative and work autonomously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.
  • Experience in designing and optimizing processes for efficiency.
  • Background in a startup environment or with new business units within larger corporations.
  • Knowledge of life and annuity re/insurance.
  • Capability to foster relationships across various organizational levels.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Compensation and Location
