Financial Planning and Analysis Lead

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is pivotal for the future expansion of the organization.
The individual will oversee a crucial segment of the company's financial management, which encompasses financial forecasting, key performance indicators (KPIs), budgeting processes, operational planning, project costing, pricing strategies, cost analysis, and cost control measures. The successful candidate will offer financial consulting and strategic insights to senior leadership, including financial presentations, capital expenditure evaluations, industry comparisons, new business opportunities, and various management-requested projects.
This role serves as the analytical backbone of the organization, facilitating optimal business decision-making.
The position reports directly to the Group Director of FP&A and collaborates closely with the Sales and Marketing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop costing and pricing frameworks for diverse product lines and significant clients.
- Employ data analysis skills to examine extensive and complex datasets, identifying opportunities to enhance company profitability.
- Create tools for monitoring and reporting on profitability, cost escalations, annual price adjustments, and recommendations for future enhancements.
- Regularly report on essential KPIs and cost drivers to foster performance discussions, managing real-time cost controls to assist General Managers and Business Unit Managers in achieving their monthly and quarterly objectives.
- Evaluate current and historical trends in key performance indicators, including revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures, highlighting trends and analyzing the causes of unexpected variances.
- Construct financial models and analyses to support sales initiatives and strategic projects.
- Review bids and contracts, conducting risk assessments that include unusual costs, necessary investments, and legal considerations.
- Lead the improvement and adherence to Business Finance processes, standards, and systems.
- Implement and utilize a Business Intelligence Tool along with Dashboard reporting.
KEY CHALLENGES:
- Operate within a fast-paced and evolving environment, adhering to strict deadlines for new opportunity modeling requests.
- Collaborate with various organizational levels, from executive leadership to technical and operational staff.
- This role is based at the company's headquarters but may require travel to other locations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or economics.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar or advancing role.
- Experience in manufacturing is essential; aviation experience is a plus.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting, financial, and operational principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is crucial.
- Experience with a major corporation or a division of a large company is preferred; global experience is advantageous.
- Commercial acumen and demonstrated experience in developing cost models.
- Ability to interact effectively with all management levels.
- Advanced degree (MBA) is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
