Role Purpose:

The Program Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting administrative functions associated with contract management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for contract receipt and monitors contracts through to completion.
  • Responsible for logging contracts into the departmental database; providing initial responses to clients; collaborating with the Director and Assistant Director on contract assignments; and tracking the status of ongoing contract negotiations.
  • Assists in formulating policies, procedures, and guidelines. Aids in budget preparation and maintenance, special reports, and other documentation.
  • Generates weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity reports.
  • Provides various administrative and logistical support.
  • Facilitates coordination of departmental activities and initiatives.
  • Assists in the upkeep and development of departmental databases.
  • Collaborates with sponsors to integrate TEES into their vendor systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Sponsored Research or Contract Management.
  • Familiarity with Maestro ERP System, AggieBuy, and Concur.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service abilities.
  • Attention to detail and sound judgment.
About TEES Contracts

The Contracts team is a dedicated group of professionals focused on facilitating innovative research by leveraging contracting expertise, industry insights, and close collaboration with other Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) and Texas A&M University System entities to execute agreements that advance TEES' mission while minimizing risks. The TEES Contracts team is responsible for negotiating and executing industry-sponsored research contracts and collaborative agreements. From initiation to execution, the team works diligently to deliver results that foster innovation and create a positive contracting experience for all stakeholders.
