Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Environmental Services Specialist to enhance our team. This role is essential in delivering competent care while ensuring a comfortable and dignified experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct regular floor maintenance, including buffing and polishing on a rotating schedule.
  2. Utilize various cleaning equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, and vacuums effectively.
  3. Ensure proper handling and storage of all cleaning machines and tools.
  4. Change and clean curtains in patient rooms weekly.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and condition of area rugs, reporting any replacements needed.
  6. Ensure all upholstered furniture is clean and well-presented.
  7. Oversee the maintenance of hard surface floors, including stripping, refinishing, and waxing.
  8. Manage the upkeep of area rugs through spot cleaning and extraction.
  9. Assist in moving furniture and supplies as necessary to complete tasks.
  10. Report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
  11. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding equipment issues or safety concerns.
  12. Complete daily tasks efficiently at the start and end of each shift.
  13. Document any incidents or safety violations to the department supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Capable of working independently with sound judgment.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures consistently.
  • Flexibility to accommodate departmental scheduling needs.
  • Adaptable to ongoing changes in the work environment.
  • Demonstrate competency in Physical Assessment within the designated timeframe.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License.
