Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on safety, protection, and environmental health to ensure compliance with organizational and government standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
Accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain environmental and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in the Environment of Care program.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance the overall safety and quality of care.
  • Coordinate safety tours and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in the enforcement of interim life safety plans and infection control risk assessments.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and CMS Conditions of Participation.
  • Organize and direct an Environment of Care and Safety program to maintain accreditation by the Joint Commission and other regulatory organizations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, or Emergency Management.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in healthcare, preferably in a large healthcare organization.
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional, Certified Emergency Manager, or Certified Healthcare Facility Manager preferred.
