The Business Development Manager (BDM) is tasked with the crucial responsibility of expanding the client base within a specified territory by identifying and engaging potential new clients. This role requires a proactive approach to customer management and the pursuit of development opportunities.
The BDM will oversee the growth and management of existing client accounts while simultaneously driving new business initiatives for TAS Environmental Services, LP. Reporting directly to the facility's General Manager, the BDM will also maintain a collaborative relationship with the Regional Sales Leader.
Key Competencies and Skills
Preferred background in Waste Management, Transportation Services, Hazardous Waste Management, Industrial Cleaning, In-Plant Services, and Emergency Response Services.
Proven track record of achieving sales objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture existing customer relationships while creating Account Growth Plans for key clients.
- Establish a robust customer base and foster strong connections with both new and existing accounts.
- Continuously seek out and cultivate new customer relationships, generating measurable revenue streams.
- Address customer care issues promptly and effectively.
- Achieve all revenue targets and business development metrics.
- Organize business development calls and appointments, preparing detailed call plans for significant customer interactions.
- Engage in regular prospecting and networking activities.
- Deliver comprehensive presentations to clients.
- Implement Master Services Agreements with new clients.
- Participate in marketing initiatives, including trade shows and seminars.
- Maintain the company's CRM database with accurate and current contact and activity information.
- Contribute to the proposal development process.
- Collaborate on-site with the Operations Team as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience.
Strong understanding of the environmental and industrial services sector is preferred.
Educational Background
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Reasoning Ability: Ability to navigate various variables with limited standardization and interpret diverse instructions.
Mathematical Skills: Proficient in calculating discounts, interest, profit and loss, commission markup, selling price, ratios, proportions, and percentages; capable of performing basic algebra.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend a variety of texts, including books, manuals, and reports; capable of preparing memos and reports with proper grammar and punctuation.
