Job Summary

The Application Support Specialist will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service and value to casino guests by assisting System Administrators and casino Team Members in resolving technical issues. This position requires a strong understanding of computer systems and networks, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve complex hardware and software malfunctions
  • Schedule and facilitate end user training, application testing and validation
  • Make technical presentations internally and to outside departments
  • Determine performance, capacity, and utilization for system components
  • Assist in planning migrations to new or improved hardware and software products
  • Monitor application changes and additions to the systems
  • Act as liaison between IT Operations and other functional units for escalation purposes
  • Work with vendors to implement, manage and troubleshoot applications
  • Research new or updated technology
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Bachelor's degree Required (Information Systems or a similar Technical Degree) and 2 years of job experience in a technical field OR 5 years on the job experience in a technical field
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to respond to critical issues after working hours on a limited basis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Possess excellent decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Administrative abilities, including record keeping
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing
  • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry specific knowledge of products such as Sage, Inform HMS, InfoGenesis, Everi, Red Rock, applications experience desired
  • Intimate knowledge of an organization's computing systems
  • Ability to explain complex ideas to those with limited IT and systems knowledge
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Listening ability and patience
  • Extraordinary customer service and relationship management experience
  • Critical thinking skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull
  • Ability to stand or move around continuously for 8 or more hours
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment
