About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Admitting Specialist to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our rehab services administration team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Perform general clerical and reception duties, including data entry, verification of insurance and/or third-party coverage, and scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Act as a preceptor and lead for other Admit Workers in the clinic, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely patient information.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience using office equipment, such as printers, copiers, faxes, and scanners.
  • Proven ability to use multi-line telephone systems and computer software, including data entry and retrieval.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform simple calculations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs.
  • Experience working with electronic health records, scheduling software, and authorization processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese (dependent on clinic requirements).
